We’re located at SCO 15 in Sector 20C, right near Labour Chowk in Chandigarh. If you know that intersection, you know it’s one of the busiest spots in the city. There’s always noise from the traffic and people gathered around the corner. Our office is just a regular room with a couple of desks and a safe. We spend most of the day looking at currency rates and counting out notes. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but you have to be careful with the numbers. The walls are a bit plain, maybe just a calendar or a clock hanging up. We don’t really go in for decorations much. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the neighborhood or people passing through the chowk who need to change some money. It can get a bit hot in the summer when the sun hits the front of the building, but we manage. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the noise from the street anymore. It’s just a part of the background. Sometimes we grab a tea from the vendor at the corner while we wait for the next person to walk in. It’s not a fancy setup, just a practical place to do business. We keep the books balanced and make sure the drawer matches at the end of every day.
