You can find Akon Academy on the top floor of SCO-58 in the main market of Sector 46C. Chandigarh is known for its sectors, and 46C has a busy market area where we are based. Dinesh Sharma is the name people often associate with our spot. Being on the top floor means we have to walk up a few flights of stairs, which keeps us active throughout the day. The market below is always full of people shopping or eating, so there is a lot of energy around. Our space is divided into a few rooms where we hold our sessions. It is a simple layout with windows that look out over the parking lot and the other shops. We have some basic office chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. The walls are mostly plain, maybe with a calendar or a map pinned up here and there. We start our day by setting out the registers and checking the schedule for the students coming in. It is a straightforward operation without any corporate fluff or fancy receptionists. We get a mix of students and parents coming in throughout the day, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes the market gets so busy it is hard to find a parking spot, but we manage. We like being in the heart of Sector 46 because it feels like we are part of the local life here, just doing our job on the top floor.
