B K Engineering Enterprises

Our workshop is down in Chakan, over at Oshiwara 626/7. It’s mostly metal and grease around here. We started B K Engineering Enterprises because we knew how to handle the lathes and the welding tools. There’s always a lot of noise because of the heavy machines running in the back. Chakan is a busy place for industrial stuff, so there’s always trucks moving around outside. We spend most of our day looking at drawings or trying to fix a part that someone brought in. My hands are usually stained with oil, no matter how much I wash them. It isn’t a clean office job. We have some old benches and a few newer machines that we saved up for. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. We don't have a big team, just a few guys who know their way around a metal sheet. We don’t talk much while working because the machines are too loud anyway. The focus is on getting the dimensions right so the parts actually fit together. It’s hard work and the floor gets covered in metal shavings by the afternoon. We sweep it up at the end of the day. People come to us when they need something made or repaired quickly. We just do the work and send it out. It’s a simple setup at 626/7, nothing fancy to look at, just a place where things get built by hand.
