Yatish Jain

My name is Yatish Jain and my place is located at 845 Paharganj in the Mantola area. We are right near the Jain Mandir, so it’s easy for people to find us if they know the landmark. It’s a very old part of town with narrow lanes and lots of history. The shop has been in the family for a while. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It's just a regular door that stays open during the day. Inside, it smells a bit like incense and old paper. I spend most of my time sitting near the front so I can see people coming in. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but the current color has grown on me. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. There’s a lot of movement on the street outside, with rickshaws and vendors passing by all the time. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming, but it’s home. We know most of the people who live and work on this block. We share news and sometimes help each other out with small favors. It’s a simple life here in Paharganj. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open up in the morning and do our work until it's time to lock up at night. That's how we've always done things here and it keeps us busy enough.
