Vivek Gupta

Vivek Gupta’s office is located at number 22 in the Tehsil Building of Tis Hazari. If you have ever been to the courts here, you know it is like a maze. The building is old and the hallways are narrow, filled with people rushing back and forth with black coats on. Our office is a small room that is mostly taken up by wooden cabinets and stacks of legal papers that seem to grow every week. The ceiling is high, which is nice, but the light isn't the best, so we have a few extra lamps on the desks. There is always the sound of old typewriters and printers going off in the background from the neighboring rooms. During the summers, the coolers are humming loudly to keep the heat away. It is a busy place to be, and you can hear the lawyers and clerks arguing or talking about cases in the corridors. We don't have a lot of space for visitors to sit, just a couple of plastic chairs that we squeeze in near the door. Most of our time is spent looking through documents or heading out to the different courtrooms nearby. It is a very traditional environment, and nothing much has changed in the way the building looks for years. We just keep our heads down and handle the paperwork that comes across the desk. It’s a gritty, fast-paced environment that keeps us on our toes every day.
