Nehru Place is always loud. Our office, Technobaba IT Solutions Private Limited, is tucked away in room 303/72. If you know Nehru Place, you know how hard it is to find a specific unit number sometimes. You walk past a dozen shops selling cables and motherboards before you get to our door. It’s a busy place with people shouting and carts moving everywhere. Inside our space, things are a bit quieter, but the energy from the market outside still leaks in. We work on IT issues, mostly fixing software things or helping people figure out their systems. There are wires all over the floor, which we really should tidy up one day. The air conditioner is old and makes a rattling sound, but it keeps the Delhi heat away while we type. Lunch usually comes from one of the stalls downstairs—cheap parathas or rice. We’ve got a small window but the view is just another building across the alley. People come in and out all day with questions about their computers. It’s a cramped office, but it feels like the center of everything because of the location. We don't have a big reception desk or anything. You just walk in and someone will look up from their screen to see what you need. It’s just how we do things here in the middle of the electronics hub. We’ve been here for years and the stairs still feel just as long.
