Surya Gem & Crafts

Down in Sector 4 of Rohini, specifically at A-3/44, you can find our little shop, Surya Gem & Crafts. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, and most of the regulars know where we are even without looking at the house numbers. The shop itself is tucked away, so it stays a bit quieter than the main road, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on small gems. We have a lot of different pieces sitting in wooden trays and some crafts that we’ve put together ourselves. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit overwhelming, and we spend half the day just trying to find where we put a particular bag of stones. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our kind of chaos. We don’t really go in for the whole high-end showroom vibe. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the chairs are a bit old, but they are comfortable enough for a long day. Most of our time is spent talking to people who walk in or sorting through new arrivals that come in crates. It’s a local business, through and through. We know the tea guy around the corner and the people who run the grocery store next door. There’s something good about working in a place where people recognize you. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, and hope the work keeps us going for a long time.
