Shivom Gems

You have to walk up to the first floor to find us at Shop No. 107 in the Hira Nand Street area. We are located at 1033 Maliwara, which is right in the middle of the busy Chandni Chowk market. It is always loud and crowded outside with people pushing past each other, but once you get inside the building, it feels a bit more private. We deal in gems, mostly loose stones that people buy to put into their own jewelry designs. Our shop is quite small, with just enough room for our scales and the lights we use to look at the stones. We have been here for many years and have seen the market change quite a bit around us. Most people find us by word of mouth because the lanes in Maliwara are so narrow and easy to get lost in. We do not have any big showrooms or fancy carpets. It is just a practical place where we can do our business and talk to our regular customers. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of town and we have to work by the light from the window, but we manage. We spend most of our day looking through magnifying glasses and weighing different stones. It is a lot of hard work keeping track of everything in such a busy place, but it is what we know how to do.
