If you happen to be walking through Sanjay Market in Rohini Sector 2, you might see our small spot at B-15. It isn’t much to look at from the street, but we’ve got a lot of stones and handmade items crammed onto the shelves. Most days, one of us is here early to open up the shutters and sweep the floor before the market gets too busy. We started this because we liked working with our hands and seeing the different colors in the raw gems. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, honestly. Boxes are piled up in the back and we are always running out of space for new shipments. People come in looking for something specific, or they just want to browse the crafts we have sitting around. We don’t have fancy lighting or those glass cases you see in big malls. It’s just us and the stuff we sell. The fans in here can be a bit noisy during the summer months, but it keeps the air moving. We spend a lot of time sorting through beads and small rocks, making sure things are labeled right, though sometimes labels get mixed up when we’re in a hurry. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the market is full of shoppers on the weekends. We just try to keep things simple and do our work without making too much of a fuss about it. That is how it has been for years.
