About Boaz Eapen Photography – Photography in Central Delhi
I run things out of my place in Sukhdev Vihar. It’s a nice area, fairly quiet compared to the rest of the city, which I appreciate. My workspace is filled with cameras, various lenses, and a lot of old photos I’ve taken over the years. I spend a lot of time editing at my desk, probably more than I should. Photography is a lot of waiting for the right light or the right moment to happen. I don't have a big team, it's mostly just me and sometimes a helper if the job is really big. People come by the studio for portraits or to talk about events they have coming up in their families. The light in the studio is best in the late afternoon, so I try to schedule things then. I keep my gear organized, or I try to at least. Sometimes cables end up all over the floor when I am in a hurry. I’ve lived and worked in this neighborhood for a while, so neighbors often drop in for a quick chat. It’s not a high-pressure environment. I just take the photos and try to make them look like what I actually saw through the lens. I don't use a lot of fancy tricks or digital effects. Most of my work comes from people who saw a photo I did for their friend. It's a very personal way to work. I like being tucked away in Sukhdev Vihar.
