Ash Photography

I’m up on the third floor in Geeta Colony, Shastri Nagar. The address is 75A. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs because there is no elevator, but it’s a good spot once you’re here. I’ve been doing photography for a while now. I mostly do weddings and family portraits. Sometimes people come here to get their pictures taken for official documents or passports too. I have some lights and backdrops set up in the main room. It’s not a huge studio, but it works for what I need. I spend a lot of my time editing photos on my computer after the shoots are done. That part takes a lot longer than most people think it does. I started out just taking pictures of my friends and then it slowly turned into this business. I don't have a big team, just me and sometimes an assistant if it’s a big wedding. Geeta Colony is a crowded place, so there’s always something interesting to see out the window while I work. People usually find me through word of mouth. I don't really go for the fancy marketing stuff. I just show people my previous work and they decide if they like it. It’s a decent way to make a living. I like capturing moments that people want to keep. It’s simple and I enjoy the process from start to finish. I'm usually around every afternoon.
