Mayank Shakya Photography

Mayank Shakya Photography is located on the 2nd Floor at A 11 in Raghuveer Nagar. It’s right near the Shiv Mandir in Rajauri Garden. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of exercise every day because there isn't an elevator. The studio has a lot of natural light coming in during the afternoon which is nice. We have backgrounds rolled up against the walls and different cameras sitting on shelves. It’s a place where we do a lot of thinking and a lot of clicking. Rajauri Garden is a busy spot, so there is always something happening outside the window. We’ve got a small area where people can sit and look at their photos on a screen. The furniture is a bit mismatched because we just bought what we needed over time. There’s usually a faint smell of incense from the temple nearby. We spend a lot of time charging batteries and cleaning lenses. It’s not a huge studio but it’s ours. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing in the stairwell and it gets a bit loud. We don't mind too much. It’s just a regular part of being in this building. We work late quite often, so the lights are usually on long after everyone else has gone to bed. It’s a simple life focused on taking pictures and making sure the lighting is right for the next person coming in.
