Sheikh Navi Computer Embroidery is tucked away at 13 Delhi Gate, right by the Dr Ambedkar Stadium. You can usually hear the noise from the street and the games if something is going on at the stadium. We have been sitting in this spot for a long time. The computers do a lot of the heavy lifting for the patterns, but you still have to watch them every second. One wrong move and the whole piece of fabric is ruined. The lighting in here isn't the brightest, but we make it work. We deal with a lot of different designs every week. It is a lot of sitting and watching the needles fly back and forth. Delhi Gate is a busy area, so there is always someone passing by the door. We don't really have a big sign or anything too flashy. Most people find us just by knowing we are here. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and scraps of backing paper. It gets dusty, but that is part of the job. We grab lunch from the local vendors nearby when we get a chance. It is a small space, and we are usually surrounded by finished orders waiting to be picked up. We just keep our heads down and focus on the screens and the cloth. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
