Pardeep Kumar

Pardeep Kumar has an office at number 60 on the Tis Hazari Main Road. Being right on the main road means there is never a quiet moment. Between the lawyers, the clients, and the street vendors, the energy is always high. Our space is located in one of the older buildings that has seen a lot of history. The stairs are a bit narrow and steep, but once you get inside, it’s a functional space. We have a few wooden tables and plenty of folders. Everything is organized in a way that only we really understand. We spend a lot of time dealing with the public who are visiting the courts nearby. It’s a lot of face-to-face interaction. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit in the afternoon, so we just sit by the window and wait for it to come back on. We have a small kettle for making tea which gets used a lot during the winter months when it gets chilly. Pardeep is often busy with paperwork or talking to people who drop in without an appointment. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don’t use much technology besides the basics needed to get the job done. The floor is swept every morning, but the dust always finds its way back in. It’s just the nature of being on such a busy road in this part of town. We just keep at it every day.
