Nitin Mittal

You can find me, Nitin Mittal, over in the Tis Hazari area at number 474. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s a whirlwind of activity. There are people everywhere, lawyers in their black coats, street vendors selling snacks, and constant chatter. My office is a small escape from all that noise. It’s not fancy at all. I have a few old chairs for visitors and a desk that has seen better decades. I’ve been working out of this spot for quite a while now. The walls are a pale yellow and I have a calendar from three years ago still hanging up because I like the picture on it. My day usually starts early before the heat really sets in. I spend a lot of time reading through documents and answering the phone. It’s a busy life, but I’ve grown fond of the chaos of Tis Hazari. There’s a specific energy here that you don’t get anywhere else in the city. I don’t have a big team helping me, so I end up doing most of the chores myself, like making the tea or sweeping the front step. It keeps me grounded. I don't really care about being the most well-known person on the block. I just want to do my work properly and go home to my family at night. It’s a simple goal for a complicated place.
