We work out of D-2 in the Grand Plaza building, which is on Fraizar Road. Fraizar Road is one of those places that never really goes quiet, so there’s always a background noise of cars and people. Our office in the plaza is pretty basic. We have a few rows of desks, some computers that have been around for a few years, and a lot of tangled power cords under the tables. It’s not the kind of place with a fancy lobby or free snacks. We mostly just come in, grab a seat, and get to work on whatever solutions we’re providing that day. The carpet is a bit worn in the spots where we roll our chairs back and forth, and the whiteboards are usually covered in scribbles that only we understand. We have a small window that gives us a view of the other buildings, but we mostly keep the blinds down to stop the glare on our screens. Lunch is usually eaten at our desks or at the small tea stall just outside the building gate. It’s a busy environment because so many other businesses are in the same plaza, so you’re always running into people in the elevator. We just keep our heads down and try to get through the daily tasks. It’s a solid place to work, even if it feels a little bit cramped when we are all in.
