Mahinder Singh Pattern Makers has been operating out of number 11 in the Anand Parbat Industrial Area for quite some years. This place is right in the heart of the industrial zone so there is always a lot of smoke and noise around. Our work involves making patterns for various industrial uses. It is a craft that takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. The workshop is usually covered in wood shavings or metal dust depending on what we are working on that day. We have a small group of workers who know exactly what they are doing. Most of us have been here since the start and we don't plan on changing much. The building is simple and utilitarian because we need the space for our benches and tools. It gets hot in the summer but we keep the fans going and stay on schedule. People come to us because they know we have been in this specific spot for a long time. We don't have a website or anything like that because word of mouth in the industrial area is usually enough. If you walk past number 11 you will hear the sound of saws and hammers going. That is just our daily life here. We just focus on the actual physical work and don't worry about much else. It is a dirty job sometimes but it is what we know. We just keep our heads down and finish the patterns for our customers.
