Innova Industries

Being out here at 18/7 Anand Parbat A P Industrial Area means there is always noise. Innova Industries is one of many units in this stretch. We work with metal mostly. The machines hum all day long. It's hot in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around. We started small and stayed that way. There are stacks of raw materials in the corner that we need to organize, but we never find the time. Most of the guys here have been with us for years. We know their families. We make parts that go into bigger machines. It’s greasy work, and our hands are never really clean. We have a small office upstairs, but nobody sits there much. It’s too isolated from the shop floor. We prefer being where the work is happening. Sometimes a truck gets stuck in the narrow lane outside and we have to help guide it out. That's just a normal Tuesday for us. We drink water from the big clay pot. It stays cooler that way. Orders come in, we get them done, and we send them out. There’s no big philosophy behind it. We just make sure the pieces fit like they’re supposed to. The tea boy from the corner brings us rounds twice a day. It’s the only way we keep going through the long afternoon shifts when the sun hits the metal roof.
