About Durga Sweet Corner – Food & Beverages in Central Delhi
Durga Sweet Corner is sitting at 2411/2 in Darya Ganj. If you know Darya Ganj, you know it’s full of history and old buildings. We fit right into that. Our shop is a place where we make traditional sweets every day. We start very early, usually when it’s still dark, to get the milk and sugar ready. The smell of frying snacks usually fills the air by eight in the morning. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have so many trays of barfi and gulab jamun laid out. We don’t have a big fancy storefront with neon lights. It’s just an old-fashioned sweet shop. People come here for their morning breakfast or to take a box of sweets home for a festival. The street outside is always busy with carts and people walking to the book market or the offices nearby. Sometimes the floor gets a little sticky from the syrup, but we wash it down whenever we get a break. We've had the same workers for years, and they know exactly how much cardamom or saffron to put in. We don't really follow a strict corporate manual. We just go by what tastes right and what our customers tell us. It is a busy, messy, and sweet place to work every day. You can see the steam from the large vats in the back if you look through the doorway.
