Bengal Crockery House

Bengal Crockery House is right by the Bara Gole Chakkar in Kamla Nagar, at Shop No 9/G. Being near the big roundabout means there is always a crowd of students and families walking past. The shop is full of things that can break if you aren't careful, so we spend a lot of time telling people to watch their bags. We have stacks of plates and cups that go up pretty high, and sometimes the whole shelf vibrates when a heavy truck goes by. It is a bit different from the auto shops in other parts of the city because it smells like clean ceramic and soap instead of grease. We have to dust everything every single day or it starts looking old. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of the walls to display what we have. Sometimes we drink tea out of the mismatched mugs that we can't sell. Kamla Nagar is a lively place and being at Shop No 9/G puts us right in the middle of the shopping noise. We don't have a fancy display window, just some shelves pushed up against the glass. It’s a lot of wrapping things in old newspaper and making sure nothing chips. The floors are tiled but a few of them are cracked from when a heavy box fell last winter. It’s just a normal place for everyday items.
