Azadpur is busy. Mukand House isn't hard to find if you know the complex. We get in early before the heavy traffic starts around the commercial complex. The office at No. I- 7 isn't huge but it fits our desks and the old computer chairs we've had for years. Sometimes the power flickers when the neighbors run too many machines, but we manage. We spend most of the day at the keyboards. Vital Hele Sys Pvt. Ltd. has been here a while now. The tea stall downstairs is where we go when we need a break from the screens. It’s a lot of paperwork and digital files mostly. The walls could use a new coat of paint, honestly. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons but the fan helps. We usually leave by six if the work is done. It's just a regular spot in a busy part of town. Most people here are just trying to get through their list for the day. You see the same faces every morning in the hallway. Mukand House has that specific smell of old paper and dust. We don’t have fancy paintings or a reception area. Just a couple of rooms where we do what we need to do. It’s loud outside with the trucks and rickshaws, but you get used to it after a week or two. The desk in the corner is always piled with folders that we need to sort through eventually. We just keep our heads down and do the daily tasks.
