Akarshak Beauty Parlour

Down in Paharganj at number 3315, that is where we are. If you know how busy Paharganj gets, you know it’s always a bit of a rush outside. But inside the parlour, we try to keep things a bit more relaxed. It is a beauty parlour for the local women and anyone else passing through. We do hair, skin stuff, and the usual things you’d expect. The shop has been here for a good while and we’ve seen the streets change a lot over the years. It’s a small space, so we have to be organized with our chairs and supplies. Sometimes the noise from the street comes in, but we just turn up the radio a bit. We don't have a massive staff, it’s just us. We know our customers by name mostly. They come in for a chat and a bit of grooming. We don't do anything overly fancy or expensive. It’s just practical beauty work for everyday people. During festivals, it gets really packed and we are on our feet all day long. It’s tiring but it is good to be busy. We don't use any polished marketing or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for people to come in. Paharganj is a unique place and we are happy to be a small part of it. It’s just a local business doing local things. We try to keep the mirrors clean and the floor swept.
