Down in Lakheri, things move at a certain pace. Our office is located at house number JSQ-4 within the cement works colony itself. It’s convenient because you’re right there where the action is. Living and working in the same area means you really know the people you work with. This part of Rajasthan, specifically Bundi district, is where we’ve set up shop. The Holcim name is on the paperwork, but we’re just the Lakheri crew. The building is older, sturdy, and does what it’s supposed to do. We spend a lot of time looking over the cement production figures and handling the local administration. It’s dusty work, given the nature of the plant, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. Maybe a few calendars on the wall and some old furniture. The pin code is 323603. It feels like a small town inside the company gates. You see the trucks coming in and going out all day long. We keep things simple. If there's a problem with a shipment or a machine, we just get it fixed. There isn't any corporate talk here, just plain conversation about the day's output and who's covering the next shift. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t mind the sun and the hard work. We don't have a polished story to tell, just the reality of making cement in the middle of Rajasthan. We just keep going.
