You can find us out at the Methan Byepass in the Chanapora area. We are right there in Bagh Mehtab, which stays pretty busy with all the cars going by. Srinagar weather can be tough, especially when it starts getting cold, so we keep a small heater going near the chairs. The shop is mostly for men who need a shave or a quick trim. We have the old-style barber chairs that have been here since we opened. They are heavy and a bit squeaky, but they get the job done. The mirrors are large and cover most of the wall. We have a radio that usually stays tuned to the local stations. Sometimes the signal is bad, so we just listen to the traffic outside. It’s a simple life here. We don't use any of those electronic booking systems, you just walk in and wait your turn. If there’s a line, people just stand around and talk. We get a lot of drivers coming off the bypass who need a quick break. The floor is wooden and shows its age, but we keep it swept. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights. Just a corner where you can sit down for twenty minutes and get sorted out. We go through a lot of shaving cream and tea throughout the day. It is what it is, a local spot for the working men around here who just want a decent haircut.
