Sajad Hair Cutting Salon

Our little shop, Sajad Hair Cutting Salon, is right there in Nowgam, Srinagar. If you know the Main Chowk area, you probably know where we are, just near Al Traders. It’s a busy spot with lots of trucks and cars moving through all the time. The shop is small and simple. We have a few chairs and the usual tools for cutting hair. It gets quite cold here in the winter, so we try to keep the place warm for whoever comes in. People from the neighborhood stop by, not just for a haircut, but sometimes just to say hello or talk about what’s happening in the chowk. We’ve been at this for a while now. The mirrors have a few smudges, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just a regular place for regular people. On Fridays, it gets a bit more crowded before the prayers. We just try to keep up with the work. Srinagar is a beautiful place, but life here is just about getting through the day and doing your job. We open early and close when the sun goes down or when the street gets quiet. It’s a basic life here in Nowgam, and our salon is just one small part of it for the folks living nearby.
