Our place is at Ii-B, 33 in the Industrial Area. It’s a standard industrial unit among many other factories and workshops. Amit Steel Industries Private Limited has been in this specific unit for many years now. You won't find any marble floors or professional receptionists here. We usually have grease on our hands and our old work clothes on. The industrial area can be quite a maze if you aren't familiar with the way they numbered the blocks. We are tucked away in the Ii-B section. It’s a practical, no-frills workspace for steel. The machines take up most of the room inside the building. We spend a lot of our time loading and unloading the trucks that come by. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean all day. We just focus on the orders we have on the books. The noise from the neighboring units is constant, but it’s just background sound to us after all this time. We keep our operations small and very manageable. There’s no big corporate office in the city; everything happens right here at unit 33. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do. We just work with steel every single day. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend half the day fixing it with our own tools. That’s just part of life here. It’s a plain, honest business. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time.
