Axiom Enterprise

Our shop is located right in Netaji Bazar, just across from the Gitanjali Cinema Hall here in Santaniketan. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets when a movie lets out. We’ve been running Axiom Enterprise from this spot for a few years. It’s a bit of a tight space inside because we try to keep a lot of different items on the shelves. Birbhum is a nice place to work, though the humidity can be a real pain during the monsoon season. We mostly deal with local supplies and whatever people in the neighborhood are looking for that week. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to move everything out of the way to do it. Usually, one of us is sitting near the front counter while the other handles the deliveries coming in from the back. It’s a simple setup. We don't use any high-tech systems, just a ledger and some basic shelves. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just open the doors wide to let the light in. It’s a regular local business life. We see a lot of students and folks who live nearby. If the cinema is crowded, parking is a nightmare, so most people just walk over. We’re just here doing our bit and trying to make sure we have what people need when they stop by.
