Shyama Seva Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over in Village Semariya, Laxman Bag. Pradeep Kumar Pathak is the one who handles a lot of the coordination at his place. We are basically a group of farmers from this village and the nearby areas who decided to work as one group. Farming here in Semariya is what most of us have done our whole lives. It’s not easy work and there is always something going wrong with the rain or the bugs. By having this company, we try to handle the selling part of our crops a bit better than when we were all on our own. We meet up at Laxman Bag to talk about what we are growing and what the prices look like. It’s a very local thing, nothing corporate about it. Most of us have known each other since we were kids. We share tools and advice when someone has a problem. Pradeep keeps the records and makes sure we are following the rules for the group. It’s just simple village life and trying to make a living from the land. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Just a few of us trying to make sure the farming stays worth the effort for everyone involved. It gets dusty and hot but that is just how it is here in our part of the world.
