Katoud Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our company, Katoud Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based right in Katoud. We get our mail at the post office in Kansa. We are part of the Dabhara tehsil in the Sakti district. Working here in Chhattisgarh means we are surrounded by farms and people who have been working the land for a long time. Our office is a simple place where farmers can come and talk about their concerns. It’s not a fancy building with air conditioning. We mostly just use fans and keep the windows open to let the breeze in. The Janjgir-Champa area is quite big, but our focus is right here in our own village. We spend a lot of time coordinating between the different members of the producer company. There is always someone coming in with a question about seeds or prices. We keep our records in handwritten books mostly, though we do have a computer for the official stuff. The road to Katoud can be a bit bumpy, especially after the monsoon, but it doesn't stop us from getting our work done. We don't have a big marketing budget or a team of experts. We are just local people who know the soil and want to keep the company running for the benefit of everyone involved. It’s hard work, but it’s the kind of work that feels right at the end of the day when the sun goes down.
