If you head over toward the Bhakda dam in Bilaspur, you’ll find us near Visharad Nagar. Joint Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at C/O Jay Prakash Goyal’s place. We are just a bunch of farmers from the area who decided it was time to join forces. The name "Joint Farmers" is exactly what it sounds like—us working together. Being near the dam is important for our fields, and we spend a lot of our time worrying about water and the weather. Our office isn't much to look at; it’s just a practical spot where we keep our papers and meet up after a day in the fields. We don't have a big staff, so we do everything ourselves, from the planting to the selling. It gets dusty and hot, but that’s the life we chose. We’re not looking to become some giant corporation. We just want to make sure that the people who actually grow the food have a say in how it’s sold. Jay Prakash helps keep us organized at the Bilaspur location. It’s a lot of hard work, and there are plenty of days when we wonder if it’s worth it, but seeing the crops come in makes it okay. We’re just local people trying to make a living off the land we’ve known our whole lives. No frills, just honest work and trying to stay ahead of the bills while we keep things running smoothly.
