Chhattisgrah Bricks

Chhattisgrah Bricks is located in Sakri, right near the Badri Rice Mill. You can always tell when the mill is running because of that specific smell of husks in the air. It mixes with the smell of the wet earth in our yard. We are just a local operation, nothing too big or fancy. The village post is a short walk away, and we see the postman go by every afternoon on his cycle. Most of our days are spent out in the open, watching the kiln and making sure the fires stay at the right level. It’s a dusty business, and by the time we head home, everything we wear is a shade of orange. We have a few sheds for storage, but most of the bricks just sit out in the sun. The Dist. area here is growing, but Sakri still feels like a quiet village. We know all the farmers around here, and sometimes they help us out during the busy season. It isn't the kind of place with a lobby or a receptionist. If you want to talk, you usually have to find someone walking between the stacks or sitting by the mill gate. We take things as they come, one load at a time, and hope the weather stays dry enough for us to finish the month’s work.
