Chakislampur Farmers Producer Company Limited is just a group of us from the village working together. We’re located over at Abuhena Seikh’s place in Goraipur, specifically M. Para. Abuhena is the son of Hamed Sk, and he lets us use his home for the company business. It’s not a big office with desks and computers everywhere, just a room where we meet and talk about our farming work. We mostly deal with the crops we grow around here. Being a producer company is just a way for us to stick together and get better prices for what we produce. The village of Goraipur is small, so everyone knows us. We spend a lot of time out in the fields and then come back to the M. Para area to sort out the paperwork. It’s not fancy, and sometimes the papers are a bit messy, but we get the job done. We aren't some big city corporation. We’re just neighbors trying to help each other out. Some days we just sit and talk about the rain or the seeds while having tea. It’s a slow life but it’s ours. If you’re ever in Goraipur, you’ll find us easily. Just look for the house belonging to Hamed Sk’s family. We’re just regular people trying to make a living off the land, nothing more and nothing less. It works for us.
