About Mother Teresa Public School – Education in Bidar
Started Mother Teresa Public School out here in Gadgi, Bidar quite a while back. It’s a quiet corner of the district really. We spend most of our mornings watching the sun come up over the fields nearby before the buses start rolling in. The gate squeaks a little when it opens, but we don't mind much. Inside, it's mostly just kids from around the area running through the hallways. We have a playground that gets quite dusty in the summer months, but the children don't seem to care when they are playing football. Our classrooms are simple. We've got wooden benches that have seen better days and chalkboards that always seem to have a bit of a ghost image from the last lesson. The teachers here are mostly locals from Bidar who know the families well. Sometimes parents stop by just to chat or bring a bit of news from the village. It isn’t a fancy place with shiny glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a building where we try to get through the syllabus and make sure the kids learn their numbers and letters properly. The afternoon bell is usually the loudest part of the day, and then everything goes quiet again. We just focus on the daily stuff, making sure there is enough chalk and that the fans are working when it gets hot out. It is just life here in Gadgi and we do what we can.
