Basava Bharati Vidyapeetha School

Our school is tucked away in the Bhalki taluka, specifically in the Siddeshwar area of Bidar. It’s a bit of a distance from the bigger cities, so we mostly serve the local farming families and people from the nearby villages. The building is basic, just brick and mortar with some paint that we try to keep fresh when we can afford to. We’ve got a bunch of classrooms and a small area where the kids can run around during their break. It’s not a place with air conditioning or tablets; we use paper and pencils and old-fashioned talking. The staff lives around here too, so we know most of the parents by their first names. Life here is pretty quiet until the school bell rings in the morning. Then it’s all shouting and running until the teachers get everyone to sit down. We spend the day going through the subjects, making sure the kids can read and write properly. It’s honest work and we don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Sometimes we have local events or small functions where everyone brings a bit of food and we just sit around and talk. It’s just how things are done in this part of Bidar. We keep the gates open and the lights on, and we do our best to make sure the kids learn something useful before they head home. It is a simple life but we are busy every day.
