Jyoti Steel Industries

Out here on Bhatli Road in Bhurgarh, things are a bit different than they are in the city. Jyoti Steel Industries is a place where there is a lot of heavy lifting and hard work. We have stacks of steel that sit in the yard and the sun makes them too hot to touch by noon. The sound of metal hitting metal is the soundtrack of our entire day. It is loud and it is honest work. The dust from the road blows into the shed, and we are always wiping down the desks in the front office. We have a few guys who have been with us since the very start. We drink tea in the morning and look at the order sheets for the day. The trucks come in and out, kicking up dirt, and we spend a lot of time loading and unloading the heavy beams. It is not a place for clean clothes. By the end of the day, everyone is covered in a bit of grime and grease. We do not have a fancy reception area for people. If you come by, you will probably find us near the back where the cutting happens. The roof is corrugated metal, so it gets incredibly noisy when it rains. We just focus on getting the steel moved and making sure the counts are correct. Bhurgarh is not a place for show; it is a place for making stuff.
