We set up our office on the 1st floor of the ID Market building in Irc Village. It’s located inside the Naxatra News Complex, so there is always some media stuff going on around us. Being in a market area means there is constant noise, from vendors shouting to cars honking, but you get used to it after a week. Our office is up a flight of stairs that are a bit narrow, so moving big boxes in and out can be a real workout. We have a small balcony that looks over the market, which is a good spot to stand for a minute when the work gets too much. Inside, the space is divided into a couple of small rooms. We have some old computers and a printer that occasionally acts up, but we manage. The floors are tile and stay relatively cool, which is nice during the hotter months in Bhubaneshwar. We don’t have a secretary or anything; if the door is open, you just come in and find us. We spend a lot of time looking at floor plans and making lists. It’s not the most organized-looking place, with folders everywhere, but we know where everything is. We usually grab lunch from one of the stalls downstairs because the food is good and cheap. It’s a very normal, busy way to spend the day for all of us involved in the business.
