Deepak Photography

Deepak Photography is located in Old Bhubaneshwar, specifically in the Bhimatangi area. We are quite close to the airport, so you can often hear the planes overhead while we’re working. Our studio is at A/E-7, and it’s a pretty simple setup. We’ve got some backdrops, a few lights, and our camera gear. Most of the time, though, we are out and about in the city. Photography in a place like Bhubaneshwar is interesting because there are so many old buildings and nice spots for photos. We do a lot of family portraits and wedding shoots. It's a lot of standing around waiting for the right light or trying to get kids to sit still for a second. Our cameras have seen a lot of use over the years. We aren't a big fancy studio with a dozen assistants. It’s mostly just us handling the shutter and the editing afterwards. Editing takes up a lot of our time, sitting in the back room staring at the monitor. We try to keep things real and not over-process the images. People know us in the neighborhood as the guys with the big bags. We just enjoy catching a good moment on film. It’s been our main work for a long time now, and we just take it one day at a time.
