Siva Dat is usually the one handling the main tasks, but we all pitch in where we can. It’s a group effort for sure. We don't have any corporate training or fancy degrees. Most of what we know comes from working the land ourselves over many years. The name Gramshakti means village power, and that’s really what we are about—just the people in the village doing things for themselves. It gets very dusty here when the wind blows across the plains of Bhiwani. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy. We don't have any big promises to make to anyone. We just show up every morning and see what needs to be done. Sometimes it’s fixing a machine, other times it’s filling out forms for the government. It’s a bit of everything. We are just local people trying to make a living.
