Verdhman Steel Emporium

This shop has been in Sadar Bazar for many years. You can find us right on Station Road in the Subhash Market area. We sell all kinds of steel things for the house. Plates, spoons, big cooking pots, you name it. It's usually noisy because of the steel hitting together when people are looking at stuff. My father started this and now I spend most of my day here. The market is always crowded, especially during the wedding season when families come in to buy entire sets of utensils. We keep a lot of stock piled up in the back. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what someone wants right away, but we eventually get there. It’s a simple business. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. Just shelves full of shiny steel. People come from all over the city because they know where we are. Dealing with suppliers takes up a lot of time too. We get new crates delivered every week. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. We just focus on getting the right items to the people who walk through the door. It’s hard work, standing all day, but it’s what we do. We don't have a big website or anything fancy. Just a local shop where you can see what you are buying before you take it home to your kitchen.
