Shiv Shankar Light & Sound

Shiv Shankar Light & Sound is a small outfit based in Bijolian, over in the Bhilwara district. You can usually find us near the Malipura Chauraha. We mostly do the sound systems and lighting for local festivals, weddings, and small gatherings around the village and the surrounding areas. It started out because we liked tinkering with speakers and wires. Now, we spend most of our nights at different venues making sure the microphones work and the music isn't too distorted. We have a bunch of speakers, amplifiers, and some basic lights that we haul around in our van. It’s not the newest equipment in the world, but we know how to make it work and keep it running through a long night. Being in Bijolian, we know most of the people around here. Folks just drop by the shop near the crossroads when they have an event coming up. We don't have a fancy office or any receptionists. It’s just us handling the cables and setting up the boards. Sometimes the power goes out or a wire snaps, and we have to fix it on the fly. That’s just part of the business when you're doing live sound. We try to keep our prices fair for the local folks. We aren't looking to be famous, just want to make sure the audio is loud enough for everyone to hear the speeches. It’s a loud life, but it’s ours.
