Faculty

I live and work at C-78 on Street 15 in Smriti Nagar, Bhilai. As a member of the faculty, I do a lot of my lesson planning and research right here at home. Smriti Nagar is a well-known part of Bhilai, and I’ve been at this address for several years. My house isn't just where I sleep; it’s filled with textbooks, student papers, and academic journals. I have a small room that I’ve turned into a study, though the books usually end up spilling out into the rest of the house over time. The street outside is generally quiet, though you get the occasional noise from kids playing or neighbors talking. It’s a good place for a teacher to live because it’s peaceful enough to think and write. I spend a lot of time reading and preparing for the classes I have to give during the week. Sometimes students or colleagues come by to discuss academic things or just to have a cup of tea and chat about the news. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for me and my schedule. I don’t like the coldness of big university offices, so being here at C-78 is much better. Chhattisgarh has its own pace of life, and Smriti Nagar fits right into that feeling. I just keep up with my work, one day at a time, and try to stay organized among all my papers and notes.
