Data Entry Operator

I do my data entry work at the Bali Ram Kirana Store, which is located in Indira Nagar, Charoda. I’m there under the care of T. Rama Rao. It’s a bit of an unusual place for an office, being inside a grocery shop, but it’s where I’ve been for quite some time now. My desk is tucked away in the back, near the bags of rice and large containers of lentils. While I am typing away and entering data into the system, the shop is usually busy with people buying their daily supplies. You hear the sound of the weighing scale and people haggling over prices all day long. It keeps things interesting, at least. I handle a lot of records for different clients, and having a computer in a kirana store in Charoda isn't as strange as it sounds to the locals who live nearby. T. Rama Rao is a good person to work with, and he keeps the shop running smoothly while I focus on the screen and the numbers. The B.M.Y area in Durg is a working-class neighborhood, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or modern office furniture. It’s just a wooden chair and a sturdy table that gets the job done. I’ve become a part of the daily life at the store and I enjoy the energy of the people coming and going while I work.
