S. M. Public School

Our school, S. M. Public School, is housed in the White House building on Rto Road in Bhavnagar. It’s a bit of a landmark in the 364001 area because of the name and the fact that we are so close to the RTO office. The road gets very busy with people trying to get their licenses or register cars, so there is a constant hum of traffic outside our windows. We have been here for years, and the building has that lived-in feel that you only get with time. We don't go in for fancy decorations or high-tech gadgets if we can help it. We prefer the old-fashioned way of doing things with blackboards and notebooks. The staff at S. M. Public School are mostly from the local neighborhood, so we see our students and their parents at the market or around town all the time. It makes for a very friendly environment. We spend our days managing the classrooms and making sure the building stays in one piece. There is always a desk that needs fixing or a room that needs a fresh coat of paint. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall; we just show up and do the work that needs doing. It is a straightforward business, running a public school in a city like Bhavnagar. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep things organized.
