Yuvak Mandal High School

Over in Manubar, our school sits right in the heart of the community. Yuvak Mandal High School has been part of Bharuch for a long time, and we don't plan on changing much. The building is a bit old, and you can see where the rain has left marks on the outer walls, but it’s sturdy. We have a few trees in the courtyard where the staff sits during lunch to get some fresh air. It’s a basic setup with rows of benches and blackboards that are getting a bit grey from all the use. We don't try to impress anyone with flashy stuff. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids show up. The road outside is usually quiet, except for when the farmers are moving their carts or a tractor goes by. It’s a peaceful place to work. We have a small cupboard for a library and a few sports things in the corner of the office. It’s not a huge operation. We know all the families in Manubar, so if a kid is missing, we usually know why before the parents even tell us. It’s that kind of place. We just keep the gates open and do our best with what we have. It’s honest work and a simple life for everyone involved. No big fuss, just a school in a village. Most days we just drink our chai and get on with it.
