The Dayadra High School

Dayadra is a small place, and our high school has been a landmark here for many years. You can't miss it when you are coming through the village. It’s an old building with high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors that have seen better days. We don't have the fancy technology or the new furniture that schools in Bharuch city might have, but we have a lot of history. The walls are thick, which keeps the rooms cool during the summer, even if we don't have many fans. Everyone in the village has some connection to this place. Maybe they studied here themselves or their uncle did. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy. The playground is mostly dirt, but the kids don't seem to mind when they are playing cricket during the break. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just a school for the local kids. We open the shutters in the morning, sweep the floors, and wait for the bell. Sometimes the cows from the nearby fields wander near the fence, and we have to shoo them away. It’s just regular village life. We don't need a website or a marketing person to tell our story. People just walk in the front door if they need something. That is how we’ve always done it here in Dayadra. The bell rings at four, and then the whole village knows the day is done. It works for us.
