Surat Salt

Our office is at A-3, Vidhata Appartment in the Shilpapark Society. It’s right on L.H. Road here in Surat. We call ourselves Surat Salt because that’s exactly what we deal with every single day. The apartment isn’t like a regular home anymore; it’s filled with files and samples of different grades of salt. Working on L.H. Road is interesting because there is always something happening outside the window. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and people who need bulk orders for their own businesses. Salt is one of those things people don't think about much until they need a ton of it. Sometimes the air in the office feels a bit heavy because of the products we handle, but we got used to it long ago. We don’t have a big sign outside or a receptionist at a desk. Usually, if you come by, you’ll just find one of us sitting at a table checking the weight logs. The society is quiet enough, which is nice when we have to focus on the numbers. We’ve been in this spot for a good number of years. It’s a local business, run by people who live right nearby. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just make sure the salt gets from the pans to the customers without too much fuss. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. It works for us and the city.
