About Friends Human Rights Development Organisation – Industrial Plant & Machines in Bharuch
Our office is tucked away in Hajikhana Bazaar, right near the Jagasheth Tekro area. It’s a busy part of town with lots of people walking by all the time. Friends Human Rights Development Organisation started because there was a need to help out with local issues and paperwork that people find confusing. We spend a lot of our time sitting at these old wooden desks, listening to people tell us their problems. Sometimes the office gets really crowded and we have to bring in extra chairs from the back room. It’s not a quiet place, especially with the bazaar noise coming through the windows. We deal with a lot of different cases every week. Some are simple and some take a lot of phone calls to get sorted out. We don’t have any fancy technology, just a couple of computers that are a bit slow and a lot of paper files. The walls have some old posters on them. We try to keep things organized but when it gets busy, papers end up everywhere. Most of us live nearby, so we walk to work or take a rickshaw. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers around B/266 pretty well. It’s just us trying to do something useful for the folks in this part of the city. We don't make a big deal out of it. We just open up in the morning and see who needs help that day. It’s been a long journey here in Hajikhana.
