Working at P.O Narmadanagar is like being in its own little world. This place is huge, and since it’s a fertilizer and chemical setup, everything is on a massive scale. You can see the towers and pipes from quite a distance before you even reach the gate. It’s been a part of the landscape here for a long time. My days are usually spent coordinating between different departments or checking on the status of the plant. There’s a lot of walking involved because the site is so spread out. We have our own post office and everything right here. The air always has that specific industrial scent that you get used to after a week. It’s a 24-hour operation, so there’s always someone on shift and the lights never really go out. It's a lot of responsibility handling these types of chemicals, so things are done very strictly. We have a lot of long-term employees who have lived in the colony nearby for decades. It feels more like a community than just a job site. The cafeteria is where most of the news travels. We don’t bother with much polish in our communications; we just need to make sure the production stays on track and the bags are filled correctly. It’s heavy work, and the sun can be brutal out here in the open sections of the valley, but we keep the machines running every single day.
