Shri Harivishnu Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Multai, which is part of the Betul district. We are mostly found over at Narayanchouthiya’s place. It’s a simple village setting, which is exactly where a farmers' company should be. Most of us have been working the land since we were young. We decided to get organized so we could buy seeds and equipment as a group. It’s a bit of a change from just farming on our own, but it’s helping. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a room with some chairs and a lot of talk about the weather. Betul is a good place for farming, but it takes a lot of effort to make it work. We spend our days checking the fields and our evenings doing the company paperwork. It’s not always easy, and sometimes the math doesn't add up right away. But we are all neighbors, so we trust each other. We don't use any big business strategies. We just look at what needs to be done and try to do it. If a member has a problem, we sit down and talk it out. It’s a very local way of doing business. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure our farming community in Multai stays strong and we can keep our traditions going.
