Sri Ram Marbles

Our shop, Sri Ram Marbles, is situated in the Aparna Commercial Complex at Gopal Pur Junction. Being in the Ganjam District, we get a lot of people coming in from the nearby villages and the towns close by. The junction is a busy spot, so there is always something going on right outside our doors. We’ve been here for a good bit now, working out of this commercial complex. It’s a bit different being in a building like this compared to a big open yard, but we make it work with the space we have available. We keep our stock organized as best as we can, though marble slabs take up a lot of room. Most of the time it’s just us moving pieces around and helping people figure out how much they need for their floors or walls. We see a lot of the same faces, like builders who have been working in this district for years. It’s a steady kind of life, opening up in the morning and staying until the sun goes down. The complex gets quite crowded during the middle of the day, so it can be a bit of a squeeze getting things delivered or loaded up. We don't use any marketing tricks, just word of mouth mostly. People know where we are at the junction. It’s a practical business and we like being part of the community here. We just try to stay honest and keep things moving.
